How it works

Every Alpha session consists of the following parts:

Fellowship

Alpha is primarily about fellowship—a simple yet important way of sharing life together. We share a meal and have the opportunity to make new friends.

Film

The films are designed to engage and inspire conversation. They run for about 25–30 minutes and explore life’s big questions: Who is Jesus? Does God hear prayer? What is the meaning of life?

Alpha is a chance to have the Christian faith explained from the perspective of the church.

Discussion

Finally, we come to what is perhaps the most important part of Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas about the day’s topic and discuss them in a small group. There is nothing you aren’t allowed to say; every perspective is welcome. It is an opportunity to listen to others and contribute—if you wish—with your own thoughts in an honest, open and friendly environment.
